Deutsche Telekom, a global leader in telecommunications, has declared its support for the Polygon blockchain architecture. Deutsche Telekom is growing its involvement in blockchain technology and proving its support for the network's ecosystem by becoming a validator on Polygon, the popular Ethereum Layer-2 scaling platform.
Deutsche Telekom MMS's validation nodes have been extended to Polygon, providing staking and validation services for the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) network and Polygon's Supernets solutions. As one of only 100 validators on the Polygon (PoS) network, Deutsche Telekom MMS stresses the Polygon ecosystem's developer-friendly and resource-efficient nature, which complies to the Ethereum ecosystem's rigorous security standards.
This collaboration between Deutsche Telekom and Polygon is considered as an important milestone for Deutsche Telekom MMS in fully leveraging the promise of blockchain technology and facilitating mass-deployable apps. Furthermore, Deutsche Telekom MMS enables Polygon staking, which contributes to the blockchain's security and decentralization.
“We are excited to have Deutsche Telekom, one of the world’s leading telecommunications providers, become a validator on the Polygon network,” said Polygon Labs' Chief Operating Officer, Michael Blank.
Blank believes that the cooperation paves the path for more enterprises to embrace blockchain technology while also empowering customers by embracing the ownership and autonomy provided by web3 technology.
As a validator, Deutsche Telekom MMS will be critical in operating and protecting Polygon's PoS sidechain and Supernets app-chains. Deutsche Telekom MMS helps to the security, governance, and decentralization of Polygon by hosting a complete node on the Ethereum mainnet, creating blocks, verifying and participating in consensus, and committing checkpoints.
